The unglamorous half of exporting: a dinner in Islamabad

No stand, no simulator, no queue. Just a room, fifteen visiting industrialists from Bursa, and the conversations that decide whether an airshow lead ever turns into a programme.

Short answer

On 8 December 2025 the Pakistan Aerospace Council hosted a welcome and networking dinner at the Serena Hotel, Islamabad, for a 15-member industrial delegation from Türkiye’s Bursa Aerospace and Defence Cluster Association (BASDEC). FSDC Aerosolutions took part as a PAeC corporate member and delivered technical briefings on modular simulator architecture, electric motion integration and custom visual scenery generation, alongside peer Pakistani firms.

What a cluster delegation actually is

Bursa is one of Türkiye’s industrial engines, and BASDEC is the association that organises its aerospace and defence manufacturers into something a foreign partner can talk to. When a cluster travels, it is not sightseeing — it is a supplier-qualification exercise conducted at speed.

For a company that had exhibited in Istanbul five months earlier at IDEF 2025, the sequencing was ideal. IDEF established that the product existed and worked. December established who would build, support and represent it if a Turkish programme ever wanted it locally. Those are two completely different conversations, and the second one is the one that closes.

What we briefed on

The B2B sessions were technical rather than commercial. FSDC presented three things:

  • Modular flight simulation architecture — how the flight model, visual system, control loading and instructor station are separable, so a partner can integrate at whichever layer suits them rather than taking a sealed box.
  • Electric motion integration — 6-DOF electric platforms with no hydraulic infrastructure, which changes what a partner facility needs to host or service a device. Background reading →
  • Custom visual scenery generation — building geo-specific terrain and airfield databases, which is exactly the sort of work that localises naturally to a partner in-country.

Why modularity is a partnership argument, not just an engineering one. A monolithic product forces a partner into pure distribution. A modular one lets them own a layer — scenery, integration, sustainment, training delivery — and owning a layer is what turns a reseller into a stakeholder.

The room

The BASDEC delegation was led by BASDEC chairman Dr Mustafa Hatipoglu with defence executive Ahmet Khan. On the Pakistani side, FSDC sat alongside peer firms including RWR (Pvt) Ltd, TereSol, BCube and the Alsons Group — a cross-section of the country’s aerospace and defence supplier base rather than a single-sector delegation.

The stated objective of the evening was co-development frameworks, joint ventures and supply-chain integration between Pakistani aerospace developers and the Bursa industrial cluster. In practice, the value of a room like that is narrower and more useful: you find out quickly which capabilities the other side does not have, and that is where a partnership has something to stand on.

Why we publish this one

An event with no photographs of a simulator is a strange thing to write up. We do it because the export story is routinely told wrong. The public version is a sequence of airshows. The real version is: exhibit, meet, brief, qualify, quote, support — and only the first step of that produces good photographs.

If you are evaluating a simulator supplier, the questions that should worry you are not about headset resolution. They are: who fixes this in year five, who holds the spares, who recalibrates the control loading, and does any of that exist in my region? A dinner in Islamabad in December 2025 is part of how FSDC answers those questions for Türkiye.

Frequently asked questions

What was the PAeC–BASDEC summit?

A welcome and networking dinner hosted by the Pakistan Aerospace Council at the Serena Hotel, Islamabad on 8 December 2025, for a 15-member delegation from Türkiye’s Bursa Aerospace and Defence Cluster Association.

What did FSDC present?

Technical briefings on modular flight simulation architecture, electric motion integration and custom visual scenery generation.

Why do industry clusters matter to a simulator manufacturer?

Because credible in-country support usually decides an export procurement. A cluster relationship gives a foreign buyer a local answer to sustainment, spares and integration.

Is FSDC open to co-development partnerships?

Yes. Contact the team to discuss representation, integration or joint development.

A note on sourcing. B2B summits generate far less public material than exhibitions. This account rests principally on the host organisation’s own published coverage.
